Evaluation and Report of Progress in Achieving Identified Goals and Priorities and Use of Title I Funds for Innovation and Expansion Activities
The evaluation and report of progress in achieving identified goals and priorities and use of Title I funds for innovation and expansion activities will be conducted in the following manner:
- The progress toward achieving the goals and priorities established in Attachment 4.12(c)(1) will be monitored by the Rehabilitation Council during its quarterly meetings.
- The Council will also monitor the strategies for innovation and expansion activities identified in Attachment 4.12(d).
- The annual report of the progress toward achievement of the goals and priorities, and the innovation and expansion activities will be included in the Rehabilitation Council's annual report to RSA and the Governor.
- The evaluation and progress toward achieving the goals and priorities for FY 2000 will also be reported in the FY 2001 State Plan submission.
- The evaluation and progress toward achieving the innovation and expansion activities for FY 2000 will also be reported in the subsequent State plan submission.
The following activities were identified in the Strategic plan for FY 98 and FY 99. They were accomplished for FY 98. For FY 99 they are being monitored, and it is anticipated those goals and objectives will also be achieved.
- During FY 98 and FY 99 allow adaptive personal computers to be purchased for high schools students at the end of the junior year when it has been determined that a computer is needed for training and/or employment upon completion of school.
- Develop Individualized Written Rehabilitation Programs (IWRP) with high school students who can utilize a computer to pursue a vocational goal and arrange necessary training for those students to enable them to become proficient in using the computer during their senior year.
- Regional offices will work to establish accessible training centers in the community for computer training.
- Regional offices will arrange for adaptive technology training in the community for service providers to make training more accessible for individuals who are blind. Additional service providers will increase opportunities for customers to make choices.
- Wages will be paid for a new statewide technology resource position to provide support and/or resources to individuals who are blind, employers, and service providers needing information regarding adaptive technology.
- A transitional week at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired will provide special programming for deafblind persons during FY 98 and FY 99.
