Virginia's Part C Early Intervention Screening Process
Overview
The following 5 part training series has been developed by the Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired to help identify possible vision problems (Parts 1 & 2) and to clarify the suggested methods in Virginia's Early Intervention Vision Screening process (Parts 3, 4 & 5). Use this training package to learn or review at your own pace.
Instructions
Below are two versions of the training package; the first is a visual version and the second is a text version. You progress through the presentations by either clicking the left mouse button or by depressing the space bar. You cannot automatically proceed from one part to the next. At the conclusion of each part, you must close that section and then open the next part.

- Part 3 - Physical Observations and Types of Eye Diseases
Includes examples of eye diseases often seen in infants and toddlers and possible explanations for behaviors such as posturing. This part begins the training on the Part C Screening Tool. - Part 4 - Methods for Using the Part C Testing and Screening Procedures
Includes testing methods that can be used and understood by the screeners and offers suggestions of when to refer to an eye care professional. - Part 5 - Screening Procedures (con't.) and Resources
This part concludes the screening tool and offers resources for further information.
